Kenyans crash out of Greek Cup

Paul Were was once again absent as his Greek side Kalloni FC crashed out of the Greek Cup with a 0 – 4 loss to Asteras Tripolis on Wednesday 28 October.

Kalloni headed to the game on a three match winless streak and still could not match their opponents.

Hosts Tripolis took the lead in the 21st minute through Lanzarote to go for the half time break leading 1-0. Four minutes after the restart, Vasil Skourtis doubled Tripolis lead.

Skourtis completed his brace in the 79th minute before Nikos Fernandez added a fourth with three minutes to the final whistle.

Another Kenyan international, Aboud Omar was a second half sub as his side, Panegialios FC lost 1 – 3 away to Apollon Smirnis on Tuesday.

Antony Fation scored on the 16th minute to put the hosts in the lead but that that lasted for only 16 minutes as Panegialios leveled through Serbian Nikola Krcmarevic.

Two goals from Panagiotis Simelidis and Jonathan Parpeix’s penalty in the 53rd and 90th minutes downed Aboud’s team and the third division side, Apollon, went top of the four-team table on three points.

Aboud was introduced in the game on the 56th minute for Giorgos Gkoutsidis.
