Gor Mahia FC’s Ugandan midfielder Khalid Aucho’s proposed move to Scottish Premier League (SPL) giants seems as close as ever with the reports that Glasgow Rangers have placed an official bid for his services.
The player has for the better part of 2016 been linked with the move to Scotland after an impressive run for Gor Mahia in the unbeaten title winning run in 2015.
According to the player’s representative, Geoffrey Kayemba of Tafag Sports Agency, Rangers made the official bid on Thursday 2 June and only Gor Mahia’s response is awaited.
“They sent the letter to the club on Thursday. They have made the offer and all we await is Gor Mahia’s response but we expect everything to go on smoothly,” Kayemba told Ugandan sports website, Kawowo.
Kayemba is confident his client will complete the move but is reluctant to disclose the financial details, only stating that it is a good offer with the player also sought by other clubs. He further stated that there are many other clubs who are after his client.
“It’s a good offer for all parties involved but talks will begin soon to sort everything out. There are other clubs that have shown interest but they are yet to make it official. The door isn’t closed for now until a better offer comes up,” he adds.
Aucho joined Gor Mahia in January 2015 from Tusker.
