Former Super Eagles Captain, Vincent Enyeama and his Lille teammates are through to the semi finals of the French League Cup after a hard fought win over Guingamp on Wednesday night.
Enyeama was called to action on a number of occasions and he was on top of his game as he psoted a handful number of saves during the regulation and extra time period.
The most-capped Nigerian player ever then capped the wonderful night with saves in the ensuing penalty kicks as Lille marched on with a 4-2 penalty kicks win over Guingamp.
Interestingly, it was Guingamp that dominated the first period, making dangerous moves in front of Lille goal but Enyeama was up to the task
Guingamp will feel undone by their quarter final exit as they hit the cross bar as earlier as the seventh minute before a disallowed goal by Diallo.
There was less frenzy in the second half as both teams became more cautious. With the game ending 0-0, penalty kicks was the last option to provide a winner and it was Lille that turned out the better side in that aspect as they cruised away with the 4-2 win.
