Uganda Cranes, the 13 – time CECAFA Senior Challenge winners will be hoping to add a 14th medal in their shelf from the 2015 tournament which is currently underway in Ethiopia.
The team secured a quarter final berth courtesy of a 1 – 0 win over Burundi delivered by Frank Kalanda’s goal in the Saturday 28 November game and speaking afterwards the URA striker backed his team to go all the way.
The team had a slow start to the tournament, losing to Kenya 0 – 2 before recovering to beat Zanzibar 4 – 0 and as they head to the quarters, Kalanda is hopeful the growth will continue.
“It is a tough tournament but we have the right quality and I believe we can win this tournament if we keep our act together. We have been progressing well in the tournament after starting with a loss to Kenya and I hope we continue that way.
“We will be going back to focus on the quarter final match and hope that we can get a win and progress,” he said.
