Kenyan duo in Belgium for trials

Two young Kenyan players Flavious Chamla and Gerald Moses are in Belgium for trials with Belgian top flight side Standard Liege.

The two Upper Hill High School students are two weeks into their scheduled month long trials as confirmed by their coach Shabaan Juma.

The two were integral members of the Upper Hill team as the school went all the way to the final of the East African Secondary Schools Games in August and Shabaan, speaking to wished the duo the very best, terming the move a big step in their career development.

“They were called up for the trials earlier in the month and will be there until the end of the month. The trials were scheduled to last for four weeks and normally we have to wish them all the best. We want them to grow to professional status and at the team we believe this is a good chance for them,” he said.

Should the duo make it, they will join a list of Kenyan players who have hit big after moves to Belgium to shape their careers. These include the current Harambee Stars skipper Victor Wanyama.
