Former Giwa Football Club of Jos forward Ibrahim Shuaibu has declared his readiness for tomorrow’s Norwegian league clash between his side, FK Haugesund and Lillestrøm.
The 19-year-old, who joined on a three-year deal in January following a successful trial alongside fellow Nigeria Anthony Izuchukwu, is desperate to make good of his debut season in Europe.
“We have a big game on Friday and I want to show my best form in that match – I believe the club management and fans are expecting a lot from me and I won’t let them down,” he said.
The young Nigerian was in blistering form in midweek as he scored a brace and provided an assist in FK Haugesund’s 8-1 rout of Stord in the first round of the Norwegian Cup.
“I’m happy for the goals and thank Almighty Allah. I will never forget scoring two goals and one assist, it’s something great . This is the beginning of my career in Europe and I want to make the best out of it.
“I also want to appreciate my fans back home for their support and prayers,” he added.
Haugesund are currently placed ninth on the log with six points after four matches this season.
