Ex-Super Eagles striker Emanuel Emenike was on the scorer’s sheet on Friday as his Dubai-based club Al-Ain recorded a 4-2 away win over Al Shaab in an Arabia Gulf League clash.
Emenike scored his first goal of the game from the penalty spot in the 38th minute after an Al Shaab defender was adjudged to have handled the ball inside the 18-yard box.
The on-loan Fenerbahce striker scored his second goal of the game also from the penalty spot in the 78th minute after he was roughly tackled by Al Shaab goalkeeper Obaid Altawila.
Friday’s brace has now taken Emenike’s goals’ tally to nine this season, with seven goals in nine league games and two in the Super Cup.
The efforts of the Nigerian striker alongside his teammates are paying off as Al Ain remained top of the league table with 28 points from 11 games.
