Dethroned Nigeria League champions, Enyimba International have denied media reports suggesting that the team have commenced negotiations with a new coach to replace current handler, Paul Aigbogun.
In a statement made available to fcnaija.com, the Peoples Elephant were emphatic that there are no ongoing talks with any manager as widely reported in the local media.
“The attention of Enyimba Football Club has been drawn to the recent media reports of the club being in touch with new coaches and players.
” With claims that these coaches and players are in talks with the club and a move will be finalized soon. The club distances itself from these false and fabricated reports” part of the statement read.
It continued: “We acknowledge that it is common practice that a player or coach who wants to boost his image will claim he has been contacted by Enyimba.
“The Club is in no such discussions and should such need arise, knows whichever coach or player it needs and will hire such a person professionally not on the pages of newspapers.
“At the moment, we are fully focused on the upcoming Federation Cup semi-final and are not happy with these false reports. Journalists should do a proper job of inquiring from the club if a claim is true before posting such stories.”
