Coach Mitko Dobrev decided to hand new signing Wasiu Jimoh, his debut and the striker was the liveliest in the opening minutes of the match, trying to put some life into a match that started in a slow tempo .

This was followed by the hosts creating so many chances and the pressure paid off in the 27th minutes when they were awarded a penalty after the referee judged defender Cyril Edum’s challenge on striker Esosa Ibignoba as irregular.
Cyril Edum was booked for protesting but Esosa Ibignoba made no mistake as he converted from the spot to make 2-0 for Nasarawa United.
FC Ifeanyi Ubah responded two minutes later as Wasiu Jimoh’s cross was deflected into the net by Samson Gbadebo who was trying to cut out FC Ubah striker Gata Adeshina from getting to the ball first.
The goal revived the Warriors who were now taking control of the game and this lead to the chance of the match, when Ngoma Luamba played Wasiu Jimoh through but he was able to keep his nerves as he ballooned the ball over the bar to the disbelieve of most fans in the stadium.
The 1st half ended 2-1 in favor of Nasarawa United.
