Rwandan goalkeeper Evariste Mutuyimana’s time at Sofapaka is over. The club has confirmed it will not be renewing the keeper’s contract at the team following expiry at the end of May 2016.
The goalkeeper was on a second stint at the team after initially playing for Batoto Ba Mungu in 2008, helping the team get promoted to the premier league before leaving for Rwanda.
Sofapaka coach David Ouma has stated that after a review of his performance over his time at the club, the management decided against renewal of his deal.
Until the expiry of his deal, the keeper was Sofapaka’s assistant captain and Ouma thanked him for his services at the team for the last one year and stated that the club wishes him well in his future endeavors.
“Mutuyimana has left the team upon the expiry of his contract. The management was not for the opinion to renew his deal and so as a club we just want to wish him the best in his future endeavors.
“He did well for us and it is only good that we wish him well as he sets off to a new challenge,” Ouma said.
Mutuyimana established himself as the first choice keeper at Sofapaka upon the departure of David Okello at the start of the season and he was responsible for the two clean sheets Sofapaka managed in the first leg.
