UFA and the Ghana footballer mutually agreed to terminate Emmanuel Frimpong’s contract in Russia.
“The club and Frimpomg decided it best for him to seek treatment outside Russia for a small injury which has kept him on the bench so far this season,” said Cliff Opoku, the player’s agent to Ghana Soccernet.
“Frimpong who never settled in Russia is now looking to further his career and still harbours ambitions to play for the Ghanaian national team.”
This makes Frimpong a free agent who’s able to join any other club.
“Emmanuel would like to extend his sincere gratitude to UFA and the fans for his time with the club and wish them all the best in the future,” he added to Ghana Soccernet.
The defensive midfielder hasn’t received a call-up for Ghana since 2013.
