Ghana’s in Group E with Uganda, Egypt and Congo where only the top team will progress to the 2018 Fifa World Cup in Russia.
The Black Stars are the top ranked team in the group, but face a major challenge beating Egypt to win the group.
Ghana actually beat Egypt in the playoff to reach Brazil 2014 and did so in style, but their opponents were not fit enough without an Egyptian league.
Since then Egypt has improved and will be looking to gain revenge. The Black Stars will prepare to counter that.
“Preparation is very key and it’s everything. It’s a very tight draw,” Ghana’s assistant coach Maxwell Konadu told Oman FM.
“Consider the factors between that time and now. A lot has changed. The mood around the team was different with massive support from the fans and the government so we must place premium on preparations,” he added.
Udinese player Emmanuel Agyemang Badu has underlined how his teammates will be switched on for these massive ties.
“It’s a very tricky group but we are ready for everything and that is very important,” Badu told Citi-FM.
“We will give our sweat and blood to win the group and for me that is the most important thing.”
