Lobi Stars recorded one of the biggest wins in the Match Day 4 games of the Nigeria Professional League;NPFL beating hitherto stubborn customers El-Kanemi by 3-0.
Red-hot Tony Okpotu had another man-of-the-match display as he netted a brace which helped his team end the nine-year wait for a win over El-Kanemi and he has also now increased his goals tally to four to make him the highest goal scorer in the League at the moment.
Just like Lobi who have now gone top with nine points from four games, Wikki Tourists also romped to a big win in Bauchi where they dispatched newly promoted Plateau United 3-0.
There was also plenty to savour in Nnewi as Ifeanyi Ubah FC with the help of their foreign players thrashed loud-mouthed Shooting Stars 3-1.
The Oluyole Warriors who won their last weekend match 3-0 against MFM FC had boasted that they will shock the big spenders in today’s clash.
Akwa United also scored three goals as they beat Heartland 3-1 in Uyo. Aniekan Ekpe’s strike from 20 yards took a wicked deflection and goes into the net to give the hosts the lead. Heartland responded immediately with an equaliser through Onyebuchi Ajunwa.
However late strikes from Kufre Ebong and Michael Ibe Okoro condemned Coach Alphonsus Dike to defeat in his first outing with Heartland.
In Lagos, MFM FC shook off their humiliating defeat to record a 2-1 win over Sunshine Stars at the Agege Stadium.
While at least three goals were recorded in almost every matches in other centres, the Abia Warriors versus Pillars and the Warri Wolves versus Rangers games failed to produce any goals as both ties settled for a barren draw
