Nigerian international Efe Ambrose’s future at Scottish Premier League giants looks bleak after he was left out of the UEFA Champions League squad for the club, submitted on Friday 2 September by new manager Brendan Rodgers.
The defender has not had the best of times at the team lately and to add salt on injury, the manager has submitted a list of 24 while he had the allowance of 25 players.
While the defender has been overlooked, among the names submitted are the injured defender Jozo Simunovic and winger Gary Mackay-Steven and Ambrose may reflect with regret on his decision to turn down a deadline day move to Belgian side Standard Liege.
Also left out is Kris Commons, who not featured this season, having had an operation for a back problem at the tail end of last term as well as new signing Kristoffer Ajer.
Celtic is drawn in Group C of the competition where the Scottish giants will meet Barcelona, Manchester City and Borussia Monchengladbach.
