Orlando Pirates have suffered a disappointing campaign in the Premier Soccer League of South Africa.
You’d normally expect them to challenge for the PSL title, but they were in the bottom half of the table most of the season, due to their Caf Confederation Cup run to the final.
Yet, failure to win the Cup resulted in a loss of morale. Then their run in the Nedbank Cup has renewed hope of them winning something meaningful this season.
“The Nedbank Cup is a trophy that all players at the club are aiming for since the league has been out of our hands for a while now, and achieving a respectable position is all we can hope for,” Edwin Gyimah told Kick Off.
“The Nedbank Cup is the only thing that we could achieve for our fans, management and the entire Pirates family to be happy.
“I also need to win trophies for the club and make history.”
