Harambee Starlets, the Kenya national women’s team reported to camp on Wednesday 24 February to commence with preparations for the 2016 Africa Women Cup of Nations qualifier first round tie against Democratic Republic of Congo.
A total of 30 players have been called up to start preparations under head coach Davio Ouma.
16 of the called up players reported at team’s Moi International Sports Center (MISC) Kasarani camp and had their first training session starting 4pm EAT.
FKF Vice President Doris Petra who is in charge of women football in the newly elected FKF office, confirmed that the remaining players will be in camp before the second day of training.
The match will be played on Sunday 6 March. The winner of the two-legged tie will face either Algeria or Ethiopia in the second round.
The final tournament will be held in Cameroon from 19 November to 3 December 2016 in the cities of Yaounde and Limbe.
