Yaya Toure will earn close to £10m without playing for Manchester City unless his apologizes to Pep Guardiola, a report by the Daily Mail claims.
The 32-year old Ivoirian is in the final year of his contract at the Etihad and currently earns £225,000-a-week and will continue to earn such until the end of the season when his contract without playing a game for the club.
Toure’s agent Dimitry Seluk and City manager Pep Guardiola are involved in a war of words and the City boss has said Toure will not play again for the club again unless his agent tenders an apology.
Seluk has however refused to bow to Guardiola, and has even gone on to fire another shot at the former Barcelona manager, claiming his success in Spain was only down to Lionel Messi and Frank Rijkaard.
Unless something changes, it now means Toure will continue pocketing the rest of his £225,000-a-week wage while only training with the club where he has spent the last six years.
Toure’s last appearance – and only one under Guardiola – came on August 24 in a Champions League play-off second-leg , where City already led Steaua Bucharest 5-0 on aggregate.
Between then and June 30, 2017 he will earn £9.9m for the final 10 months of his contract.
