Kenyan international David Cheche Ochieng will not be signed up by Swedish top flight side Djugarden IF.
The defender was on a week long trial stint where he also featured full time in a friendly match, against Gefle on Saturday but the club has disclosed that it will not be pursuing a deal with him further and was left behind as the team went to Turkey for preseason camp.
He (Ochieng) made a good impression in training during the week and after a tough start against Gefle played himself up and came into the game in a nice way. Today we have had a discussion with David and he will not join the team at the training camp in Turkey during the week. He will instead explore other options in the future,” Andersson told the club’s official portal.
Meanwhile, his mate, Michael Olunga who has also been in training with the team, is part of the team headed to Turkey though the club is not very clear on his future.
“We have had a discussion with the club and Michael himself and he will go with us to Turkey. After that we will make a decision and decide about his future in Djurgården,” Andersson said.
