Kenyan Premier League (KPL) giants Gor Mahia have a new sponsorship with Crown Beverages Limited (CBL), rumoured to be in the region of Kshs 50 million.
The deal coming just weeks after the club secured a five year sponsorship with betting firm Sportpesa will last for three years and is expected to further ease the club’s financial woes that have bedeviled it for the past two years.
In a statement from the company, the Gor Mahia chairman Ambrose Rachier states that the partnership will go a long way in bettering the club as well as its fans.
“This partnership is founded on a shared belief in striving for excellence in product creation and service delivery; this partnership will also demonstrate the two brands’ mutual commitment to making a difference in the lives of our communities and fans at large,” he is quoted as having said.
His sentiments are echoed by the company’s Commercial Director David Minja who is quoted as stating that the club and its huge fan base stands to gain while the brand grows in a symbiotic relationship.
“This partnership will result in a lot of benefits for Gor Mahia and its huge fan base in Kenya and consumers of our quality beer brand through a number of promotional initiatives and will symbiotically boost the team’s and our brand’s popularity in Kenya and across the continent” said David Minja, the CBL Commercial Director.
