If there was a special award for the most signings in the transfer window, this seasons title would’ve gone to Wigan.
The Championship side has remarkably signed 27 players in two transfer windows – last summer and January.
If all their deals were conducted via a fax machine, it might be asking to be retired now anyway.
The arrival of Conor McAleny might not have created much attention, even on the quietest of deadline days.
But it was worth noting for one reason at least.Since the end of last season, Latics manager Gary Caldwell has now signed a staggering 27 players including Samni Odelusi who joined in July.
An interesting departure from the club, was one Richard O’Donnell, who came on a permanent deal in the summer, and then left again – the keeper has now joined Bristol City.
