Rivers Angels right back, Ifeoma Ikenokwalu hopes she can get more playing time with the Nigeria Women Premier League Champions in the remaining games of the season.
The 16-year old, who started ahead of Ugo Njoku in Angels last home match against Confluence Queens of Kogi which the reigning champions won 2-0, emerged as the Most Valuable Player.
Ifeoma in a chat with the club’s media expressed her delight on making her first appearance for the team.
“I feel very good after playing in that position and impressing my coaches and the fans, I thank God I played quite well in my first match of the season,” she said.
She also revealed how Njoku was able to encourage her before the game which made her comfortable before the game.
“Before the match, she told me I need to calm down, look where to pass and that I shouldn’t be in a hurry. That’s exactly what I did and it really helped my game,” she added.
The young player also desires to get more playing times before the season runs out.
“I am looking forward to playing more matches and I thank God am coming back,” she enthused.
Rivers Angels will be home to Delta Queens this weekend in a match day 7 game of the Nigeria Women Premier League.
