The joint press briefing by Confederation of African Football (CAF) and the Football Kenya Federation (FKF) on Friday 26 August at the Moi International Sports Center (MISC) Kasarani has been cancelled.

The CAF president Issa Hayatou and his FKF counterpart Nick Mwendwa were lined up to address the media regarding the preparations for the 2018 African Nations Championships (CHAN) which Kenya was handed the rights to host but a cancellation has been sent to the media from the federation.

The event was supposed to start at 3.15pm but the parties decided against the briefing to allow room for further consultations and the federation promised to give a report on the same on Saturday 27 August.

“This is to inform you that the CAF/FKF joint press briefing that was scheduled for today, August 26, 2016 has been called off. This is to allow both parties more time to consult on the issues at hand.

“FKF will issue a comprehensive statement on the same latest tomorrow, Saturday, August 27, 2016.

FKF wishes to apologize for any inconveniences caused,” the statement read.
