SuperSport United midfielder Cole Alexander admits to being fortunate to have worked under some outstanding coaches and is now looking forward to developing further under Stuart Baxter.
Cole is beginning a new chapter in his career – in Pretoria, the former Ajax Cape Town midfielder having made the switch from Polokwane City, where he caught the eye with some brilliant midfield displays in the last year.
The 26-year-old hopes to take his game to another level under former Bafana Bafana head coach Baxter, who took charge of Matsatsantsa at the start of 2016, going on to win the Nedbank Cup in May.
“I am still growing and adapting to the playing style and I think with each club you learn something new. Throughout with my career I was blessed to be with very good coaches so wherever I was, I was coached by good coaches,” Alexander told the club’s official website.
“I am looking forward to learning and adapting to Stuart Baxter’s coaching methods. I believe wherever I go it’s always a different learning experience and I am constantly learning with each season that passes by.”
The all-action midfielder says he sees similarities between SuperSport and his former club, Ajax, and believes he is in the perfect environment for his talent to flourish.
“I must say Ajax Cape Town is very professional. So those clubs that I have been to over my career such as Vasco Da Gama and Polokwane City I tend to compare the training fields and facilities between the clubs,” he explained.
“I think that Ajax Cape Town and SuperSport United is more into detail with a lot of things and it’s those little details that make a difference.”
