Flying Eagles Captain Kelechi Nwakali has confirmed that he will sign for Arsenal later this month before joining the Gunners for pre-season tour in July.
The Nigerian youngster had agreed to join the North London club after he led the Golden Eaglets to win the Under-17 World Cup in Chile last year but yet to sign his professional contract as he was deemed under-aged.
However, the younger brother to Manchester City star Chidiebere Nwakali, recently turned 18 and will travel to England later this month to sign the dotted lines to join the team under the guidance of French manager Arsene Wenger.
“I will sign this month now that I’m 18, and then I will travel for pre-season next month,” he informed.
Nwakali was in action for Nigeria at the weekend as he helped the Flying Eagles beat Burundi 3-1 on aggregate in the U-20 African Cup of Nations qualifier.
