Victor Moses and Emmanuel Emenike will have their teammate Cheikhou Kouyate available for this weekend’s premier league match after the Football Association rescinded his red card he received against Blackburn Rovers in the FA Cup fifth round win.
The 26-year-old was sent off by referee Jonathan Moss in the 75th minute of the Hammers’ 5-1 win but West Ham appeal turn out successful.
A statement from the English governing body read: “Cheikhou Kouyate’s one-match suspension for denying an obvious goalscoring opportunity has been withdrawn with immediate effect following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing today.
“West Ham United’s claim of wrongful dismissal in relation to their Emirates FA Cup fifth round proper tie against Blackburn Rovers on Sunday February 21, 2016 was upheld.”
West Ham returns to Premier League action against Sunderland at Upton Park on Saturday and manager Slaven Bilic will be happy Kouyate will be available for selection.
