Italian Football Federation president Carlo Tavecchio have confirmed that Chelsea bound Antonio Conte will leave his role as manager after Euro 2016.
The former Juventus manager qualified the Azzurri for France 2016 but have been surrounded by news of a possible move to Chelsea in the summer.
Reports claims that he has already agreed to sign for the Blues and the announcement by the Italian Football Federation may not come as a huge surprise afterrall.
“Conte will leave the national team after the European Championships,”Tavecchio informed.
“He [Conte] is missing the day to day job [of club football].”
Chelsea is currently managed by Dutchman Guess Hiddink who replaced Jose Mourinho in interim capacity but Conte stand a risk of managing a team without Champions League football as the Blues are way off the top four spot with eight matches left before the end of the season.
Chelsea are expected to make an official announcement of the signing of Antonio Conte as their new manager in the coming weeks.
