The Kenyan Premier League (KPL) champions Gor Mahia will open their 2016 CAF Champions League campaign against Madagascar side CNAPS in the preliminary round of the competition in February.
The draw for the 2016 edition of the tournament was conducted on Friday 11 December and will see the Kenyan side start at home on the weekend of Friday 12 – Sunday 14 February 2016 before heading to the Island nation for the second leg a fortnight later.
The two sides will be facing off for the second time in as many years after they faced off in the 2015 edition at the same stage, Gor Mahia advancing on the away goals rule before being dumped out by Congolese side AC Leopards.
In the CAF Confederations Cup, Kenya is yet to submit representatives with the GOtv Shield final set for Sunday. The winner between Nakumatt and Bandari in the final will find Congolese side St. Eloi Lupopo waiting in the preliminaries.
