Mikel meets with Nigeria Senate President

Chelsea midfielder and Super Eagles Captain John Mikel Tuesday paid the Nigeria Senate President, Bukola Saraki a courtesy visit at his Abuja home on Tuesday.

Mr. Saraki said he was pleased to know Mikel off the pitch while he also hinted that Mikel has assured him the Super Eagles will not disappoint as they kick start their quest for qualification for the 2018 World Cup in Russia with an away clash to Zambia on Sunday.

Saraki via his twitter handle @bukolasaraki, said, “Had the pleasure of hosting @mikel_john_obi yesterday & nice to get to know him off the pitch. Assures of a great game against Zambia.

Mikel before now was rumored to be injured but the captain has declared not jut his fitness but his readiness to lead Nigeria to victory against the Chipolopolo on Sunday.

“All the other players and myself are fit and ready and we are determined to start the World Cup race on a winning note.” Mikel told the team’s Administrator.

At the moment, preparations is on full throttle for Sunday’s cracker billed for the Levy Nwanawasa Stadium against the Chipolopolo of Zambia.

The Nigeria delegation are expected to depart for Ndola by chartered flight on Saturday

The Zambia Vs Nigeria game will start at 2.30pm Zambia time (1.30pm Nigeria) on Sunday.
