Emmanuel Emenike showed West Ham how good he is with a brace in their 5-1 win over Blackburn Rover at Ewood Park and was left feeling he could’ve scored more.
Hammers manager, Slaven Bilic handed the Nigerian his first start since he arrived on loan in January and he impressed with a superb display in a game that also saw Victor Moses score for the away side.
Both teams were reduced to ten men but Emenike wouldn’t mind as he swept in his first goal from close range and rounded Blackburn’s goalkeeper Jason Steele to score again for a comprehensive 5-1win but felt the Hammers could’ve had more goals.
“I could have had more but I want to thank god for today and for the victory. I also want to thank the management,” Emenike told the club’s official website after the game.
“The game was open when it was ten against ten and we could have scored more. I am happy with my goals and for the team.”
West Ham will play the winner between Manchester United and Shrewsbury Town in the quarter final.
