Kaizer Chiefs confident of Lebese and Parker return

Lebese is touch and go for the Derby

Kaizer Chiefs fans will be hoping that George Lebese and Bernard Parker make a quick road to recovery, the pair having returned to training this week after injuries.

Lebese has been absent since hurting his groin against Mamelodi Sundowns two weeks ago, while Parker has been out since being injured in AmaKhosi’s last game of 2015, away to Bidvest Wits in Cape Town just before Christmas.

It is unclear whether the two attackers will recover sufficiently and gain enough fitness to feature in Saturday’s Soweto derby showdown with Orlando Pirates at the FNB Stadium (15H30 kick off), but there could always be the possibility of them making an appearance off the bench if coach Steve Komphela deems them ready.

“Both (Lebese and Parker) are involved in training, continuing with their recovery journey to full fitness,” read a report from the Chiefs Medical Team on the club’s website.
