German international Andre Schürrle has talked up how he enjoys playing alongside African star Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.
The 25-year-old joined Borussia Dortmund this summer from Wolfsburg and has immediately formed a sweet partnership with the Gabon international in the absence of compatriot Marco Reus who has enjoyed a fantastic combo with the former AC Milan star.
Both players were fantastic in Borussia Dortmund’s 2-1 win over 1. FSV Mainz 05 at the weekend and the former Chelsea forward was full of praise for Aubameyang after a successful debut.
Speaking on his partnership with Aunameyang to Bundesliga.com, he said: “I think you could see that we’re always on the lookout for each other.
“It’s so much fun when you’ve got a striker who’s always looking to come from deep and is so quick – you’re always looking to release him.
“It really is great! He holds the ball up, too, so you can go in behind him. It’s already pretty devastating, but if we have a bit more space in future and exploit our pace – something Ousmane [Dembele] also has… And then when Marco Reus comes back.”
Dortmund will be in battle for the Bundesliga title with Bayern Munich this season.
