Home based Eagles arrive Belgium


Two home based Super Eagles players and other members of the team’s back room staff who departed for Belgium on Wednesday night ahead of the international friendly fixtures against DR Congo and Cameroon on Thursday and Sunday respectively have arrived Belgium.

The Belgian embassy on Wednesday finally issued entry visas to six domestic based Super Eagles players alongside some NFF officials and the team’s backroom staff after a long wait but that was only after coach Sunday Oliseh had drafted in three foreign based players as replacements for the stranded home based players.

The Nigeria Football Federation on its official twitter handle confirmed the Eagles arrival on Thursday.

“Chima Akas, Austin Obaroakpo, GK coach Alloy Agu,Kits Manager Chidi Ngoka,Dr.Ibrahim Gyaran,Media Officer Toyin Ibitoye arrive Belgium camp.” The body tweeted.

Super Eagles Coach Sunday Oliseh will be hoping for his second win on the job as he leads out Nigeria against the Leopards of DR Congo in Thursday’s high profile friendly to be played at at the VISE Stadium by 19:00hrs Nigerian time.

The Eagles are also to play against bitter rivals Cameroon on Sunday in Dendermonde.
