Spanish outfit Villarreal have confirmed the signing of former Chelsea loanee Alexandre Pato from parent club Corinthians.
Pato had a disastrous loan spell at Chelsea from January where he managed one goal in just two appearances after joining the Premier League club in January.
The Yellow Submarines in an official statement on its wensite wrote: “The club and the Paulista Sport Club Corinthians have to an agreement for the transfer of Alexandre ‘Pato’, who will become a Yellow for the upcoming four seasons.
“Brazilian footballer will be presented next Monday 1st August at 8.30 pm in the Paraje Ermita de la Virgen de Gracia Villarreal.”
The Brazilian striker who was one of world football’s most promising young talents when he burst onto the scene in Serie A in 2007 will now attempt to resurrect his career in La Liga where he has penned a deal until 2020.
Pato’s parent club Corinthians said they sold their stake in the former AC Milan player to enable the move.
The Brazilian outfit added that the two clubs have decided not to release “economic figures involved in the deal”.
