Kenyan Premier League (KPL) giants Gor Mahia continued with their pre season engagements with a friendly match against Sudanese giants Al Hilal Omdurman on Thursday 21 January at Port Sudan Stadium.
Substitute Enoch Agwanda rose off the bench, replacing new signing Jacob Keli at the start of the second half and connected well to debutant Eric Ouma’s cross on the 47th minute to hand Gor Mahia a slim 1 – 0 win.
Al Hilal had a chance to level matters on the 77th minute but the attempt from the penalty spot was saved by Gor Mahia keeper Boniface Oluoch.
The win saw Gor Mahia bag their second trophy this year alone, after last week winning St. George FC’s 80th Anniversary Cup on Friday 15 January in Addis Ababa.
The team will be returning to Kenya on Saturday 23 Janury to continue with their preseason engagements.
Gor Mahia line up: Boniface Oluoch (GK), Benard Odhiambo, Musa Mohammed, Harun Shakava, Luke Ochieng’, Ernest Wendo, Collins Okoth, Ronald Omino (Erick Ouma 46’), George Odhiambo, Francis Kahata, Jacob Keli (Enoch Agwanda 46’)
