Nigeria Professional Football League (NPFL) will witness an iconic derby encounter scheduled to go down today at the Agege Township Stadium between Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries Football Club of Lagos and relegation-bound Ikorodu United Football Club of Lagos.

Following the League Management Company (LMC) decision to temporarily lift the closed gates sanction imposed on the Agege Township Stadium, the home ground of the Olukoya Boys after taken cognizance of the scheduling of the live broadcast of Match Day 25 between the two Lagos-based sides, NPFL followers in the Centre of Excellence now have the opportunity of seeing what promises to be a tantalizing football experience as the Olukoya Boys do battle with the Oga Boys.

Smarting from their 2-0 away defeat to Sunshine Stars Football Club of Akure in their last league match, Coach Fidelis Ilechukwu tutored side will be hoping to return to winning ways when they trade tackles with their state rivals on Sunday afternoon.

Ikorodu United FC will be coming into this encounter with nothing but prestige and pride to play for while MFM FC must do everything humanly possible on the pitch to get the maximum three points at stake which will put an end to their four games unbeaten run in the ongoing NPFL season.

This meeting between these two teams will be the second in the top league. MFM FC shared the spoils with the visitors in the first leg of this same fixture in Match Day 5 with goalkeeper, Folarin Abayomi keeping a remarkable clean sheet.

The away side hasn’t won any game away from home this season, the best result so far for them on the road was a hard-earned point against Abia Warriors Football Club of Umuahia in Match Day 21 after a 1-1 draw.

The hosts on the other hand lost their last home match 1-0 to visiting Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) of Ibadan, they will be looking for a way to seek redemption by pulling a convincing win over their Neighbors.

The Olukoya Boys currently occupy the 13th position in the 20-team table with 30 points from 23 matches. They have conceded 23 goals and managed to score 22. The away team on other hand sits in the 19th spot with 15 points.

Ikorodu United FC will face yet another difficult encounter tomorrow as Coach Fidelis unleash the likes of tricky left-winger, Sikiru Olatunbosun, experienced forward, Musa Newman, teenage striker, Stephen Odey, Monday Shinshinma, Akunete Chijioke and other reliable attackers who are capable of wrecking havoc on any team’s defence in the top flight.

Ilechukwu will be relying on the dependable defender, Austin Opara to lead the backline and ex-junior international midfielder, Ifeanyi Ifeanyi, and petit midfielder, Onuwa Chukwuka Emmanuel to lead other trusted and tested players in the middle of the park and the entire team to a resounding victory on Sunday.
