Goals were scarce in the National First Division on Sunday, with just one scored in the two matches played.

Royal Eagles 0-0 Mbombela United

Eagles started brightly before Mbombela came back into the game midway through the first half. The team from Mpumalanga could have won the game in the 86th minute when they had a good chance, but a draw was probably a fair reflection as Mbombela moved into the top three with the point earned.

African Warriors 0-1 Highlands Park

Up at the Charles Mopeli Stadium, It was Highlands Park who dominated the opening half, creating two or three good chances, but failing to turn those into goals.

The match also appeared destined for a draw, but the visitors had other ideas as they struck with a 95th minute goal through Tebogo Kalake to claim a 1-0 win.

The NFD action continues on Wednesday when Santos meet Milano United in a Cape derby at Athlone Stadium, while Witbank Spurs welcome Mthatha Bucks to the Puma Rugby Stadium.
