Kano Pillars put up a ruthless display in their Nigeria Professional Football League Match day 13 tie against Shooting Stars on Sunday as they whitewashed the Oluyole Warriors 6-0 at the Sani Abacha stadium in Kano.
The win by Pillars on Sunday is the biggest so far this season in the Nigeria Professional Football League.
Emmanuel Edmund got a hat-trick for Pyramid Boys while the trio of Ifeanyi Matthew, Adamu Mohammed and Nafiu Ibrahim also netted a goal each in Sunday’s emphatic win.
It was Ifeanyi Matthew that kick started the goal scoring spree for Pillars with a low drive after 11 minutes, before Edmund doubled the lead in the 37th minute.
Edmund netted his second of the game in the 58th minute and completed his hat-trick in the 82nd minute, before late strikes by Adamu Mohammed and Nafiu Ibrahim made nonsense of the Oluyole Warriors whose players are reportedly owed five months salary.
With Sunday’s win, Pillars now have 21 points from 12 matches.
