Serie A returned after the international break and it looked like business as usual for some especially Juventus, while Napoli once again dropped off the race to give the champions a run for their money.
On this week’s review of games in Italy’s top flight, we take a look at all the games and the effect they now have on the table.
Juventus 2-1 Udinese
The Old Lady extended their lead at the top of Serie A and it looks like they will run away with a fifth straight league title unless something drastic happens, after they beat Udinese 2-1. It now looks like only the Champions League presents real challenge for Massimiliano Allegri’s men after a brace from Paulo Dybala saw them through.
Napoli 1-3 Roma
At the start of the season, it looked like the Naples club would push Juve all the way, but they appear to have lost their way so soon. Roma on the other hand, have replaced them as Juve’s closes rival but still five points off the league leaders.
Inter 1-2 Cagliari
One just has to wonder what the issue with Inter is. With Roberto Mancini gone and Frank De Boer in, not much has changed in terms of results and consistency and it was just another case of bad day at the office last weekend meaning they are now 11th on the table.
Chievo 1-3 AC Milan
With this result, Milan have now been able to navigate their way to third place on the table, level on points with second-placed Roma but with a reduced goal difference
Sassuolo 2-1 Crotone
Lazio 1-1 Bologna
Fiorentina 0-0 Atalanta
Genoa 0-0 Empoli
Pescara 1-1 Sampdoria
