Ghana legend frowns at Andre, Jordan Ayew comparison

Iconic former Ghana international Abedi Pele has warned that the comparison between his sons Andre and Jordan Ayew within local media and Black Stars fans should stop as both are unique in their own ways.

Coincidentally both brothers moved from France to the English premier league – joining Swansea and Aston Villa respectively but while Andre has set the league on fire with five goals in ten appearances and being named the Barclay’s Player of the Month of August, Jordan just got his first goal of the season last week as Villa has struggled so far.

Disappointingly, Jordan’s goal came in the same game Ayew netted the winner and ultimately confirmed the sacking of Tim Sherwood from the club. However, like a proud father that looks after the interest of the kids, Pele has begged fans and local media to stop the unhealthy comparison between his sons but amazingly claimed that Jordan is the better player while Andre is smarter.

“Every individual has his own talent, strengths and weaknesses. I believe that Andre has his and Jordan has his.” he told Accra-based Starr FM

“Jordan is more skillful and Andre is very smart in the game so everyone has his own specialty. I am very proud of them.”

Rock bottom Villa will travel to White Hart Lane on Monday to face Tottenham Hotspurs while Swansea will host high flying North London side Arsenal on Saturday.
