Cheche impressed with Danish trials

Kenyan international David Cheche Ochieng looks to return to action after six months out following the expiry of his contract with Saudi Arabian side Al Tawoon FC and his subsequent refusal to renew.

The defender has been on week – long trials at Danish club AaB Fodbold where he finished off with a 45 – minute appearance in a friendly match on Saturday 23 January and he says all went well.

The defender will however not be sealing a deal to the club just yet, as the club has exhausted the quota for defenders but he has been assured of consideration in the June transfer should he be available.

“I had a great time out there in Denmark though I had to struggle a lot with the weather. I managed to get used to it and even featured in a friendly game and I think I did well and even the coach told me he was impressed.

“Unfortunately, he told me I will not be signed at this point in time as they have already summed up the quota for defenders but a consideration for me in the midseason will be available,” he stated.

The defender skippered Kenya through the 2015 CECAFA Senior Challenge.
