Mamelodi Sundown captain Ramahlwe Mphahlele says they will do everything in their power to reach the CAF Champions League proper.
The Brazilians face a decisive clash against Democratic Republic of Congo powerhouse, AS Vita Club, at Lucas Moripe Stadium on Wednesday.
Sundowns trail heading into the second round encounter after losing the first leg 1-0 in Kinshasa. They must overturn that score if they want to head into the next level of the competition – which is the group stage.
“The CAF Champions League is the ultimate test for top clubs from Africa’s football leagues…. These are exciting times of the season,” Mphahlele told his club’s website. “We have done well so far and we intend to end the season having achieved all goals set.”
Pitso Mosimane’s men are bolstered by the availability of star attacker Khama Billiat, but goalkeeper Denis Onyango is a doubt.
Mphahlele urged fans to turn out in their numbers and get behind the team in Atteridgeville.
“Keep attending matches at the stadium,” he added. “We appreciate your presence and would like to thank you for your support. It’s vital to push to the last game and spurring us on to win.”
