South Africa has been drawn with hosts Brazil for the Summer Olympics football event in Rio.
League leaders Mamelodi Sundowns exciting young winger Keagan Dolly can’t wait to make the trip to South America.
“Well, I’m really excited with the draw especially being in the same group as the hosts Brazil, as we already know what to expect. We also know that they are a very good team with very good individual players,” Dolly told Goal.com
“We really don’t know much about the other two countries in our group but we know each and every game is going to be tough.
“It’s going to need us to give our best in all three games if we want to stand a chance to qualify for the next round.
“The friendly we played against Brazil gave us an idea on what they are about, what we need to do is just work as a team and play our normal brand of football and try to match them.
“Like I said it’s never going to be an easy match because they are a brilliant team but if we stick to what we are good at, I think we stand a fair chance
South Africa’s previous U23 team that participated in an Olympic event went on to famously make a name for themselves in Sydney 2000 by beating Brazil. Dolly’s team could do the same.
“Going into the Olympics we said we don’t want to just go there and participate, we want to give our all as we’ve been doing throughout the build up to the Olympic Games,” he added to Goal.com
“We are looking forward to doing our best and representing our country with honour.
