Injury ravaged Liverpool forward, Daniel Sturridge has been labelled as a huge doubt for Sunday’s Premier League showdown against Odion Ighalo’s Watford,
Reds Boss Jurgen Klopp had hoped the Reds striker would be available for the trip to Vicarage Road but he’s not yet ready to return to full training thus fuelling speculations that he will play no part in the game against the in-form Hornets.
It was gathered that Sturridge is still receiving treatment on the hamstring injury he suffered in the 2-0 defeat at Newcastle United on December 6. That was just his third appearance for Liverpool following eight weeks out with knee and foot problems.
It was initially believed that the England international would be sidelined for around three weeks and Klopp showed much enthusiasm when quizzed in Switzerland last week on the issue.
“It is a little hamstring. Nothing more,” Klopp said.
“Now we have 10 days, I would say, until we think about if he should play. That would be the Watford game maybe. If he can run in eight days and be ready for physical training.”
Sturridge has been dogged by injuries over the past 18 months. When Luis Suarez was sold to Barcelona in the summer of 2014, he was expected to become the focal point of the Liverpool attack.
