A contingent of locally based players reported to the kenya national team residential camp at the Moi International Sports Center (MISC) Kasarani on Friday 6 November to start preparations for the 2018 World Cup qualifier against Cape Verde.
A total of 17 players reported to camp to kick off training for the game scheduled for Saturday 14 November at the Nyayo National Stadium as confirmed by the Team Manager Willis Waliaula.
He confirmed that all players called up save for the Gor Mahia and Bandari ones, who have Top 8 Cup and GOtv Shield assignments on the weekend, reported in time for the first session.
“All local based players apart from those of Gor Mahia, Ulinzi Stars and Bandari reported to training and we had a very good session. We are also camping at Kasarani and on Monday we hope for a full house,” he said.
There is however the concern that foreign based players may fail to report for the match due to the federation’s refusal to refund them for their tickets for the two legged clash against Mauritius.
“The federation and the government are handling the matter and I hope all will go well. We did send letters to all the players in advance,” he added.
