Tottenham Hotspurs manager Mauricio Pochettino watched in glee as his team demolished Stoke City 4 – 0 in the Monday 18 April Barclays Premier League clash at the Britannia Stadium and speaking after the match, he lauded the team for playing at a high intensity and showing good hunger.
The Argentine could not hide his happiness at the team’s performance in the match as they closed in on league leaders Leicester City to within five points.
His team has hit top form at the right time, he said, and he hopes they can continue piling the pressure on the league leaders. He also had praise for the team’s fans as the belief sinks in with the season on its business end.
“It was amazing, we feel very proud of our players and they deserve full credit, all the praise,” said Mauricio. “We showed character, passion, we were hungry and we enjoyed that 93 minutes.
“We’ve arrived at a crucial moment (of the season) at a very good level, we’re happy with how we are and we need to continue pushing and putting the pressure on Leicester.”
Our fans were fantastic. They deserve this moment and one more time, thank you very much, their support was incredible.” He said.
