Tottenham Hotspurs do not have much to play for in the season after their title ambitions were crushed by Chelesa the last time out, with the Blues coming from behind to draw with Spurs 2 – 2, however, manager Mauricio Pochettino Says the desire is still there.
Spurs will be hosting Southampton on Sunday 8 May and the Argentine says they will be going to the match still inspired and looking to hold on to their second place on the table while he reveals that the ambition for the team at the start of the season was to finish in the top four.
He admitted that it is disappointing they could not win the title but noted that he is pride of his team’s show in the season.
“We have the same desire to play the next two games. We want to keep second place in the table and nothing has changed for us. To finish in the top four is fantastic for us as this was our goal from the start of the season.
“Maybe we feel disappointed as it was a good chance to win the Premier League title, but for the way we fought and how the season was, we need to feel proud of our players,” he told English media ahead of the Sunday match.
