Manchester United defender Chris Smalling has hailed derby hero Marcus Rashford following his winner against neighbours City at the Etihad.
The 18-year-old who has a knack of scoring on his debut followed up his pair of braces against Danish side FC Midtjylland in the Europa Cup and Arsenal in the premier league with the winning goal against City in the Manchester Derby to become the youngest player ever to score in such a huge fixture.
The fearless colleague boy ran at established defender Martin Demichelis before slotting past Joe Hart in goal for the vital win.
‘It is so refreshing to see a young kid like Marcus run at defenders, I know if I was up against him I would find it difficult,’ Smalling said after the match.
On his personal performance the former Fulham youngster said: ‘It was difficult for me today as I got an early booking and I had to be more careful and a couple of times pull out of tackles but I managed it.
Manchester United currently sit sixth with 50 points, just a point outside the UEFA Champions League spot.
