French midfielder Moussa Sissoko has emerged as a potential deadline day signing for London based Barclays Premier League side Tottenham Hotspurs.
The midfielder, 1 1who spent three season with Newcastle has been unsettled ever since the team got relegated at the end of the 2015/16 season and after a fine show for France in the Euro 2016, it was a matter of time before a move materializes.
Having been called up for international duty, France’s official Twitter account revealed that Sissoko has been allowed to leave the rest of the squad to complete a transfer.
The Tweet however did not specify with which club the midfielder will be completing the transfer but reports in the English media have it that Tottenham has met the asking fee placed by Newcastle United.
Newcastle manager Rafa Benitez had really stated his desire to have the midfielder stay but Sissoko, keen to keep his place in the French national team, opted to leave in search of Champions League football.
