Legendary Arsenal goalkeeper David Seaman has backed Arsene Wenger’s side to end their 12-year title drought this season.
The gunners are currently two points behind surprise leaders Leicester City on the Premier League log and following Monday night’s clinical victory over Manchester City, pundits have tipped Arsenal as favourites for the crown.
Their situation is helped by other challengers, such as Chelsea, Manchester United and Liverpool, all dropping regular points, Seaman believes that this could be Arsenal’s year.
“Arsenal have got a great chance. They’ve got to start believing sooner or later, because the other teams are not doing well, they aren’t performing consistently. So they’ve got a great chance,” he told talkSPORT.
“This season is so different because they’re beating the big teams, which is a massive bonus. They’ve struggled with that over the last few seasons. “But they’ve also got to make sure they win the ‘smaller games’. Their next few matches will be a big test for them and they have to get themselves up for it.”
Arsenal will play against Southampton and Bournemouth to end 2015 and start 2016 by hosting Newcastle United at the Emirates.
