Top scorer in the Nigeria Premier League for the 2014/15 season Gbolahon Salami has been presented with a trophy and cash gift by the Rashidi Yekini Foundation.
Aside the trophy and cash award, Salami also received a surprise gift of pair of boots last used by the goal legend Rashidi Yekini
At the presentation ceremony held in Ibadan on Thursday, first daughter of the Late Super Eagles Striker, Yemi Yekini said the initiative was part of effort by Yekini’s family to immortalize the revered Nigerian striker and to continue to give back to the game that made her late father a hero and legend.
Salami finished the season with 17 goals having hit a brace in the final game of the season against FC Taraba. The Home based Eagles skipper in an earlier chat with 366football.com said he was very excited to finish as the top marksman in the League even as he thanked his teammate for the pivotal role they played in helping him emerge as the top scorer in the country’s elite division.
“I will say team work and hard work made me emerge as the top scorer in the, I am grateful to God and I pray for more success in my career” Salami stated.
